Top Quality Joinery

We have a team of shipwrights who are experts in their field and who pride themselves in creating beautiful joinery work.

We have been championing sustainable alternatives to Myanmar teak for over ten years and have lots of experience of using many different types of wood.

We were an early adopter of the teak alternative Kebony (a treated maple) and showcased many alternative products in the building of our ‘green’ Contessa 32 ‘Calypso’  back in 2010  which was documented in this blog.

Kebony in maple is no longer available so we now tend to use another brand of heat treated North American maple for exterior work.   We have also found a good source of plantation teak from Java through a trusted supplier called Sykes Timber, we are also occasionally able to source reclaimed teak.

When refitting boat interiors we encourage customers to think about alternatives like cherry, walnut and maple.
