She 36, Designed by Sparkman and Stephens.
The SHE 36 is a classic S&S design, sails beautifully and looks after her crew in all conditions. Water Bear is a fine example, having been refitted in 2015 for a single handed passage across the Bay of Biscay with all new mast and spars and a new Yanmar engine. She has been carefully restored over the past three years by the current owners. She has new canvas and upholstery; extensive work on the rigging and deck fittings including two new winches; a copper bottom which avoids annual antifouling, and many other improvements including a refurbished cabin interior, a new VHF radio, bathing ladder and cockpit table. She is in fine working order and recently cruised to the West Country and Isles of Scilly as well as taking part in the Round the Island race in heavy weather. Sails are in very good condition as is the teak deck.
